The quest known as the Six Blades of Kojiro stands as one of the most prominent open-world tracking segments in Ghost of Tsushima. To fully conquer this legendary side adventure, players must track down five elite Straw Hat duelists across the diverse landscape of Toyotama before earning an audience with their ultimate leader. Locating these scattered arenas demands a keen eye for environmental details and careful exploration of remote areas.

Prerequisites for Unlocking the Mythic Tale

Before you can begin tracking the individual swordsmen, you must first speak with the musician Yamato to officially receive the quest details. This specific character is located within the secluded village of Umugi Cove, sitting out on the back deck of a bustling inn during Act 2. However, players should note that you must complete the local side quest called A Thief of Innocence first, or Yamato might not appear in the village.

Speaking with Yamato marks the locations of the five Straw Hat assassins directly on your map. This makes navigating the terrain much simpler as you prepare for consecutive one-on-one sword fights. Ensure your resolve is completely full before setting out to confront these deadly adversaries.

Tracking the First Two Duelists in Toyotama

The first opponent can be found at the Duel in the Drowning Marsh, located just south of the Old Kanazawa Marsh. Here, you will face Yasumasa in a swampy environment that tests your movement speed. Defeating him requires precise parrying against his aggressive standard strikes.

Next, head to the northern side of the Field of the Equinox Flower to locate Hirotsune at the Duel Among the Spider Lilies. This battlefield is visually distinct, filled with vibrant red flowers that set a dramatic tone for the encounter. Keep your distance and look for openings right after he finishes his attack strings.

Locating the Remaining Swordsmen Areas

The remaining three swordsmen are positioned near various natural landmarks across Toyotama. You will fight Kiyochika under a waterfall along the Musashi Coast, Tomotsugu on the shore below Cloud Ridge Shrine, and Kanetomo east of Yamabushi Peak. Each combatant utilizes a slightly different pacing, forcing you to adapt your defensive timing constantly.

Conquering these dynamic environments requires players to switch up their combat stances based on opponent behavior. Taking down all five initial warriors prepares you mechanically for the final challenge awaiting you. Make sure to heal up and manage your inventory before proceeding forward.

Confronting Kojiro at Omi Monastery

Once all five initial Straw Hats are defeated, return to Umugi Cove to speak with Yamato once again. The musician will inform you that Kojiro is waiting for a final showdown in a nearby cave. Your destination is the Omi Monastery, situated in the far northwestern section of the region.

Follow the guiding wind past the large red tree near the waterfalls to locate the hidden cave entrance. Inside the Mirror of Sacred Light, Kojiro will challenge you to the final and most difficult duel of the quest. He is incredibly aggressive, meaning you must rely heavily on dodging unblockable attacks and executing counterattacks.

Overcoming Kojiro rewards you with the highly coveted Kensei Armor and the Kensei Headband. This armor set significantly increases your resolve gains and enhances the damage dealt by your Ghost weapons. Successfully completing this journey cements Jin Sakai status as a legendary warrior of Tsushima.
